Welcome to Napa

Trendy food, world-class wine, and wide-open spaces

Trendy coffee shops, award-winning wineries, and Michelin-starred eateries are abundant in Napa, where lucky locals live a gourmet lifestyle year-round. Residents enjoy immediate access to luxurious spas, five-star golf courses, and vast, protected wildlife preserves, making for a well-rounded lifestyle in one of California’s most storied and sought-after communities. From downtown’s waterfront to the rolling hills of vineyards, more and more people are deciding to make the move to Napa to enjoy a world-class lifestyle and make this celebrated city into their home, sweet home.

With the first residents arriving in the 1820s and 1830s, the city of Napa began to grow rapidly as a result of the California Gold Rush and later on, the Silver Rush of the late 1850s. By this point, Napa’s downtown district resembled that of many other cities several times its size, with hundreds of people visiting the neighborhood on any given day. Today, Napa is still popular and buzzy, with thousands of people traveling from near and far to experience its unique culture, fine dining, and famous wines recognized across the globe.

Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping

Napa’s downtown Riverfront district rivals those of many of the nation’s most impressive cities. Some of the state's most exquisite restaurants, hospitable resorts, and luxurious shops are found on the shores of the Napa River and on the surrounding blocks.

The Napa Valley Wine Train departs from a few blocks away, taking guests on a three-hour, 36-mile round-trip excursion up to St. Helena and back. On board, guests enjoy a multi-course gourmet meal featuring the best in California-style cuisine and the highest quality local ingredients. Of course, every facet of the meal is individually paired with an exquisite wine from the region.

At day's end, a fragrant waterfront meal can be enjoyed at Bounty Hunter Wine Bar & Smokin’ BBQ. Some of their southern-inspired bus sellers include beer can chicken, pulled pork sandwiches, tender ribs, brisket, and their zesty jalapeño cornbread. One of the community's more casual dining options is located in a historic building from the 19th century offering one of Napa’s largest wine lists. Guests can choose from over 400 bottles and over 50 available by the glass.

The Silverado Country Club at Silverado Resort is one of Napa‘s most luxurious treats. Members enjoy access to a beautiful golf course, tennis facilities, a relaxing spa, social events, on-site dining at The Grill, and exclusive members-only perks.

Things To Do

Napa hosts many major events each year, with the PGA Tour being one of the largest. The Fortinet Championship, held at the Silverado Resort, takes place in September and attracts some of the world’s most talented players. The Napa Valley Film Festival is also a celebration of food and wine. Every November, this commemoration of independent filmmaking also features cooking demos, wine tastings, and is a major fundraiser for local art programs and educational facilities. Other great experiences can be had at the year-round farmers’ market featuring nearly 100 different vendors, the Lighted Art Festival, and annual BottleRock Napa Valley music festival, which has previously featured major acts like Bruno Mars, Snoop Dogg, and Tom Petty, to name a few.
